It’s been a Cluster 10 kind of day w/ school readiness walkthroughs at Luke C. Moore HS, @BHSEC_DC, and @DukeEllingtonDC!! These school communities have created robust plans and are ready to safely #reopenstrong for their students during Term 3!!
Thank you @dcpublicschools for sending home COVID tests in backpacks! This is a great first step, especially for our unvaccinated ECE students. Huge help for parents. Now please work with @_DCHealth to do this for ALL students. #reopenstrong #safereturn
Some summary stats for @dcpublicschools #reopenstrong COVID case notifications. 141 notifications went out to the community announcing 265 new positive cases for the week. See @K_M_C95 graph below. We know all cases aren't being reported here.
The #DCPSEats! self-op teams are busy cooking up some great recipes for you to try in SY 20-21. Did someone say signature dry rubs?👀 #ReopenStrong🍎
The ❄️ snow ❄️ may have caused some delays, but we're excited for @BarnardES2 families returning to in-person learning for Term 3. Take a look at how they prepared to #ReopenStrong.
I get that this was the best responsible option, but can we get a new hashtag? “#ReopenStrong virtually” feels like it isn’t really a thing, imo.
A little girl I know has returned to school today for the fist time since March 2020. Thanks @dcpublicschools @oysteradams for your efforts to #ReopenStrong
For those folks following the @dcpublicschools case notifications from the #reopenstrong data--it is NOT looking good. Last week there were 124 new positive cases posted. Here is what that looks like graphically--thank you @K_M_C95. See more states here: dcpscoviddash.wixsite.com/website
Seeing our young people filled with joy to be back in the classroom was a true bright spot. And the masked smiles we saw at pick-ups and drop-offs across all eight wards were a reminder of how important this reopening was for our young people. #ReopenStrong
Term 4 begins on Monday. Over the next three weeks, we expect to have 2,700 more students return to the classroom at nearly 50 schools. Learn more about our commitment to #ReopenStrong at dcpsreopenstrong.com/schedule/term4.
Huge thanks to @ProvidenceRIPD for organizing an amazing donation of school supplies to help us #ReopenStrong. Really appreciate your collaboration and partnership! @pvdschools @Arzinia_Gill @mrsdelby
Instead of #ReopenStrong we get #reopenweak
He further explains to families that there is a DC teachers union piece of this discussion that has been largely absent from the news @PerryStein

More info on the weekly required testing for PreK students (see the entire thread for more detail on all the updates to the @dcpublicschools #reopenstrong testing plan). @MinerElementary
👪 Weekly ECE Testing 👪 Students in PK3 & PK4 will be provided a rapid test each week and required to upload their results each Sunday before returning to school. Kindergarten students will also receive weekly test kits and are highly encouraged to test each week.
Now, @DCPSChancellor and @MayorBowser please abolish the consecutive 31-day policy altogether. Take any amount of time retirees have to offer and pay them for their expertise. @AnnaLysaGayle @Gelman_Scott @WTUTeacher #reopenstrong #retiredteachers #schoolcrisis #teachershortage
12. Thank you if you read all this. Now please help us get some respect for our retired teachers!! I know many are willing and want to help out. I'm not sure who else I need to send this to. Please help. #reopenstrong #retiredteachers #schoolcrisis #teachershortage
@dcpublicschools regarding #reopenstrong #safereturn townhall: What happens if a student had to quarantine because they tested positive in early December but is out of quarantine per the DC Contact Tracing? Will that student have to quarantine if they test positive on 1/4/22?
@_DCHealth can @dcpublicschools parents get some numbers here? We know the #reopenstrong data are often an undercount, so what are we really dealing with here? Please update ASAP.
UMMMMMM @_DCHealth @DCPSChancellor @MayorBowser @DrLNesbitt what in the bad data hell is this? It was bad enough the 12/23-12/26 data didn't change from 12/22 (good try at lying tho), and now you just posted blanks? Wow.
So @CDCgov and @_DCHealth are you all going to update guidance on masks? Please do so quickly!! School districts are using your guidance and we need a change for January! #reopenstrong npr.org/sections/healt…
As a @dcpublicschools parent I've been following the #reopenstrong COVID notifications for awhile. I know that Monday there were 108 reported cases. However, when I look at @_DCHealth I see this...505 new cases!! Wow. @DCPSChancellor can you help me make sense of this?
Beers virtual notice says they've had 15 cases since the 13th, yet the #reopenstrong data only show 11.
Notice says they've reported 14 positive cases since Dec 13th, yet #reopenstrong data only show 9.
Again these numbers do not match the #reopenstrong data; McKinley Tech HS has had 15 cases since the 7th; 4 cases since the 13th. Letter claims 11 cases since the 13th!! My guess is that this isn't a typo and that many notifications are missing. Thoughts?
Similar situation here. Our principal sent the close contact and the official community notice on Friday, but it didn't post to #reopenstrong

Can you clarify what data source you are "intently monitoring" for the increase of COVID? @dcpublicschools never made a dashboard and your #reopenstrong data never match the @_DCHealth data. So, what numbers are you monitoring?
Here is a list of @dcpublicschools which have had 10 or more COVID cases over the last two weeks (according to #reopenstrong data): Wilson x20 Whittier x19 (Virtual now) Simon x15 Brightwood x14 Beers x13 McKinley Tech HS x13 JO Wilson x12 Ida B Wells x10
The @dcpublicschools #reopenstrong notification keep coming in. We are at least 39 notifications and well over 75 positive cases for today!!! @DCPSCovidCases it's going to be a long night...
We're seeing some really big numbers in @dcpublicschools #reopenstrong notifications: *Whittier went virtual after 14 cases in the last 9 days. Wilson HS has 15 cases in the last 9 days. Brightwood has 8 cases in the last 7 days. Roosevelt HS had 6 cases in last 10 days. (1/2)

Went to check the #ReopenStrong @dcpublicschools website at school today and I got this message. Even after using the “unblock” page, it still wouldn’t work. Why is the dcps filter blocking this website? Hiding data? @DCPSCovidCases @DJoseph31 @DCPSChancellor @VKH_edu
Let them know from the curbside that you are open! #reopenstrong #kansascity #YourBrandOurBusiness The @ExhibitAssociat has curbside signs ready to go!
