As a fun way to improve strategic thinking and @SCSDMath skills, our 21st CCLC after-school students in third grade at @HuntingtonSCSD recently learned to play mancala! The Acharyas family visited classrooms to show students how to make game boards and play the game. #SCSDMath
We decided to combine the two math classes this afternoon to generate more discussions through peer collaborations. Students are defending their own mathematical thinking and sharing their strategies. #scsdMath @SyracuseSchools @VanDuynChamps @EvaDivaWilliams

5th grade math champions at @FranklinElem2 were learning how to take a fraction of a whole and apply it to a recipe—look at what deliciousness occurred!! And so much fun!! @SCSDMath @SyracuseSchools #PersonalizedLearning #scsdmath #SCSDSucces
Ms. Piraino's classes use the library to research different styles and dimensions of furniture for their interior design projects. Each group are redesigning two room for their client (volunteer teachers). #GoSTEMLions #SCSDSTEM #SCSDMath @STEMatBlodgett @SyracuseSchools
