I realized years ago folks lack the capacity for large scale thinking which is why they focus on individual incidents when talking about things being “systemic.” They think “systemic” means “this one-off thing happens to a lot of ppl” and not “the design and function is violent.”
I’m slowly coming to the realization that concepts and phrases like “systemic” or “institutional” racism are just like, abstract terms for the average person, applied haphazardly. Or if it’s not explicit like a klan hood and a swastika they just don’t get it. It’s sad
I say "signficant" because the primary forms of rebellion in recent decades have been failing to launch, demanding extended childhood, trying to live with mom, refusing IRL activity, etc. Really the opposite of politically meaningful youth rebellion.

I think it's clear that SVB is *not* systemically important. But it is big enough that it should have been subject to tougher capital requirements. But it successfully lobbied against those.
