Had a blast with these fabulous educators this week at #TISC2018. Dr. Ross Green and Heather Forbes did not disappoint. Ready to go back and share that #TraumaInformed love @NGC_Trojans
If Ss are operating in the right brain, we can't offer them our left brain solutions. Protection of self overrides logic. #TISC2018
Every kid who graduates does not need to be a rocket scientist but we must make sure they are good human beings- Ross Greene #TISC2018
I love that this conference includes a brain 🧠 break station #TISC2018 @misszeisler You’d love this. @AngMcD We should do this at Quantum.
“But it’s easy to teach a child their letters. It’s hard...and exhausting work to teach them how to regulate. You have to always be ‘on your game’.” So worth the time and effort! #TISC2018
@GriffinSpalding is well-represented, & thrilled about learning at the Trauma Informed Schools Conference! @Griffin_RESA #TISC2018 #BeyondConsequences

Help for Billy is a great book and for me reiterated everything I have learned and taught me new things. Heather does a great job with trauma informed. #TISC2018 Get to one of her conferences if you can. The National Trauma Informed schools conference was amazing

I originally was looking at a #weightedblanket for Ss during #TISC2018. I ended up ordering one from @Get_CapeAble for myself. Educators need to be regulated in order to help their students regulate. I absolutely love it! Let the #selfreg begin. #traumainfomed #selfcare #alted
RESOURCE: Conscious Discipline/Trauma-Informed #traumainformed #TISC2018
Conscious Commitment for the week: "I am willing to use the Q.T.I.P. method (Quit Taking It Personal) when I feel triggered by someone's behavior. Instead, I will see it as a call for help and an indicator of a missing skill." Willing to commit?Post: “ImWillingRU" below. #qtip
I was able to put a lot of my learning from last weekend’s #TISC2018 to use with my son this weekend. It is so amazing to be able to connect with him beyond his trauma. He is the strongest person I know.
I recently heard the comment "Why do they still have behavior problems at that (my) school they are trauma-informed?" This indicates to me they don't realize we are fixing broken systems and supporting kids, not trying to fix kids. Kids aren't broken. #TraumaInformed #tisc2018
@DHEPrincipal Thanks for the great session at #tisc2018. I look forward to leading my school to become more "Trauma Invested" by starting with relationships. Inspired!
Pleasure to connect with you and your colleagues at #tisc2018, @MrJJSully. We are in MO often to support great schools so reach out anytime if I can help. In the meantime here is one of the resources that might support your efforts!
"Being trauma informed means feeling what the other person is feeling. And that doesn’t always feel good." - @HeatherTForbes #tisc2018
Being Trauma Informed means loving ALL of your students unconditionally. #tisc2018 #allmeansall
100% true!!!I But it is easier together. Build your trauma informed community so when it is tough, you have people to lean on! #TISC2018
I need to be explicit. Operating in a #TraumaInformed way is extremely difficult for adults including me sometimes, but it's what is best for kids. It's simply a journey not at destination and many times the are detours on the journey #TraumaInformedChat #tisc2018 #tisnetwork

Was proud to present alongside @PrincipalCates on Building a Positive School Culture at #TISC2018. A powerful weekend making connections & learning with educators on the same journey to build their #traumainformed capacity. #BetterTogether #alted
#TISC2018 It was a great two days of validation of what we are doing well at @AlbertPowellHS, of what we’ll bring back and share with colleagues about #traumainformed practices, of new professional friendships made and of #wellness and #selfcare. Thanks @HeatherTForbes
Take away from #TISC2018 , one of the biggest challenges to having a trauma sensitive school is understanding that often our staff has trauma of it's own. We have to take care of our teachers if we want them to take care of our kids.
