#ChristmasDay 2024 wine choice: a mix of old world class with new world fun: Magnum NV Ruinart Blanc de Blancs; Felton Road 2019 kiwi pinot noir; and Berry Bros white burgundy. Result: fell asleep during early moments of Wallace & Gromit.. #dannysdrinksdiary #festiveedition 🍷🎄
A top Provençal rose this! Ice cold. Plenty of red fruit but also some savoury weight to it, which makes it perfect for barbecue food. Happy Whitsunday everyone! ☀️🍷 #DannysDrinksDiary #RogersoftheRiviera (well, south London) 💙
Eking out the summer with this Chilean rose on this sultry evening. It's a gran reserva pinot noir with quite a complex nose; bit of mango and nectarine in there. Cheers everyone! #happyIndianSummer #dannysdrinksdiary 🌤💜
Sun's over the yard arm, the clocks are forward, it's time for the first rose of the spring; and it's that pale pink Provençal classic, Whispering Angel #dannysdrinksdiary Cheers and Happy Easter everyone!🍷☀️💙
Nice Saturday evening in sauf London! Having seafood risotto so have cracked open a nice Albarinho; 2021 so it's got good colour and body, with that refreshing lemon tang, and a saline finish to go with the fish. Happy spring bank holiday all #dannysdrinksdiary 🍷 ☀️
This is a nice summer wine with food; a Sardinian Vermentino - very dry with lemony flavours and a good mineral finish. #dannysdrinksdiary
Bizarrely I've actually got to the point where I'm looking forward to this Friday night drink. Nanny State is very good though.. #dryJanuary #dannysdrinksdiary
The white of choice at the @northcote was a Carpe Diem Chardonnay from Anderson Valley California. Lots of tropical fruit on the nose and a buttery match for rich fish dishes #dannysdrinksdiary
Interesting drop this; a NZ Riesling in a local Asian restaurant (Dulwich). Off dry, very flavoursome, with that weird petrol bouquet that this grape can have #dannysdrinksdiary
Great meal at the Michelin-starred @NorthcoteUK @pobhotels in Ribble Valley tonight. The main wine is a lovely Le Difese super-Tuscan; great clarity and balanced black cherry fruit #dannysdrinksdiary #redrosespecial 🌹 🍷
Been down in Cornwall again, south coast this time. Can highly recommend The Sardine Factory in Looe; great food (crab, white fish, mackerel) & washed down with a nice French sauv blanc; a bit of zingy tropical fruit but simpler and fresher than the kiwi style #dannysdrinksdiary
F*** #DryJanuary! Opened a 2018 Ridge Vineyards Sonoma Zinfandel to mark end of first full working week in 2025. It's a blackberry and chocolate winter warmer. #HNY #dannysdrinksdiary 💙🍷
Opened a bottle of a fine Sardinian red that @MarkKleinmanSky bought me a long time ago for my birthday (not Valentine's Day, don't worry 😂) A 2011 Terre Brune; 85% carignano and 15% ABV! Still tastes great with blueberry sweetness on the finish #dannysdrinksdiary
A lovely #spa experience and #lightlunch at @theScarletHotel today in Cornwall. The hot tubs on the cliff top, overlooking the wild ocean this spring are a truly exhilarating experience. They serve a nice fresh appley house champagne too! #dannysdrinksdiary
Seeing as it is Oscars weekend I've opened a great bottle of Californian Chardonnay (using a Coravin!): it has a powerful nose for a chard; all tropical fruit, which is reflected on the tongue. Quite buttery too with a dry and fruity finish. Happy Spring! 💙 ☀️#dannysdrinksdiary
Great special occasion lunch and fine wine at The Garden House restaurant at @Beaverbrook_UK in my childhood part of Surrey. To accompany my nice crab linguine I had a very good red burgundy, think it was by Leflaivre. Good body for a Bourgogne #dannysdrinksdiary 🍷🍾
Fantastic birthday dinner at @bobbobricard last night. Still the atmospheric, indulgent Soho choice. Started with a glass of Bollinger NV, a simple Domaine Jean Collet Chablis with oysters, then a good value and characterful claret: Chateau la Tour de By, 2014 #dannysdrinksdiary
