A person becomes a true judge only when judgments are delivered with justice—free from bias, illogic, and public opinion. As long as unquestioning backbenchers occupy the bench, justice will remain absent from judgments.
It might be better, on balance, for JUDGES to be a bit reluctant, to feel a little humility or hesitation in the face of the enormity of their task and stop letting repeat violent offenders out on the streets.
Judge not according to appearances* but judge ye righteous judgement. *sometimes replaced with traditions.
Judges need to be maintain their position through merit. If they can't remain unbiased, then they don't deserve the position!
It is sometimes very difficult to use the customary 'with respect' when commenting on a Judgement. It is sometimes politely dealt with as something of a hypothetical and abstraction as in 'that finding, if made, would be amount to an idiosyncratic version of justice'.
El respeto y el crédito se lo tiene que ganar la judicatura con su actuación, lo que no está ocurriendo. Ni olviden Uds. que son funcionarios públicos, al servicio de la ciudadanía, y que no son inmunes a la crítica.
Fair & just? A judge's duty is not to give judgements on morally right or wrong things. His duty is to hold criminals accountable no matter how morally wrong or obscene the victim or the circumstances are.
In a society with wildly different cultures & lived experiences, a jury isn’t guaranteed to see a case through the same lens. Pretending everyone walks into that room with the same values or biases just isn’t real. A trained judge should offer more consistency because the law…
JUDGE = Criticize or Condemn 'Beware of the “judgers” aka people who judge you but who do not truly know you. Let them share their opinions so that they feel better and then mute them from your thoughts. Push forward, you deserve better.' ☀️🤷👌
Righteous judgment requires humility, context, and compassion, not reduction or condemnation. So if we’re going to invoke scripture, let’s do so with the spirit of discernment rather than weaponization.
Judges are to make ruling that favor the law and law-abiding people. It is truly sickening that they favor violent criminals over our citizens. These are real people who are being violently attacked and murdered. The judges and the governors do not appear to recognize this.
I do .. Judges can’t use their Bias against anyone and call themselves Law Abiding Americans.. We need judges to control their personal feelings when it comes to judging someone else. If they can’t do that, they Must recuse themselves to maintain fairness.
The truth is simple: juries endure because they keep the justice system honest. They ensure that when the state seeks to take away someone’s liberty, it must justify that act to the public itself. Judges are experts in law not the issues associated with crime
i get that but as a judge you need to be consistent- bad guy for one, bad guy for all. either judge on a mistake or let it slide but don’t be wishy washy on rules
A judge's sole job is to make sure a trial happens by the letter of the law. They should only be able to ignore a jury verdict IF there was such an egregious deviation of the law that the jury was wrong. But again, they should have to submit their reasoning to a (cont)
The selection of judges needs to be done with great care, and their performance regularly assessed. Juries can be swayed by a few persuasive, bullying or domineering personalities. There are reasonable arguments on both sides. However, good judges supported by the latest AI…
Judgements are the orders.. not statements to convince anyone.. Parties to the dispute either must obey them or go for appeal at higher forums.. Whether you agree to it or not, Judiciary is the only estate that runs reasonably sincere compared to any other wings of democracy..
“Judges” should have stricter guidelines to be approved as candidates; and they DEFINITELY should not be allowed to make decisions based on party affiliations, race, gender, or creed. Judgeship isn’t supposed to be about winning popularity contests.
