Many believe plant antioxidants are healthy due to stimulating the NRF2 pathway, boosting antioxidant production. However, these compounds aren't antioxidants; they're pro-oxidants, eliciting a hormetic response. This is similar to how toxins activate NRF2. #antioxidants #NRF2

We start September with good news! We have just had a new manuscript accepted: repurposing an activator of #NRF2 in #TDP-43 dependent frontotemporal #dementia. This work is part of @ignaciosilva96 doctoral thesis in collaboration with @DeFemia @BBM_UCM @UAM_Madrid @IIBmCSICUAM
