My sister lives VERY close to Jessi and her family. I asked her today about her smoke detectors and found out that while she has them, when one of my autistic nephews started the toaster on fire, they didn’t go off until AFTER everyone was out and the fire dept showed up
I have one request for people who want to honor Jessi. Make sure you have working smoke detectors. Make sure you talk to your family and friends to see if they have working ones. Everyone takes for granted that their detectors will work, but sometimes they don’t.
