Bump is a good example of development, bigger, faster than last year's AHL POs. Has become more decisive with the puck, and more involved off the puck. This is why you want young players to spend a season in the AHL (unless of course they're elite talents like Martone).
I think it’s obvious michkov is the player on this team (outside martone) who has the potential to be a 90+ point player. Nobody else on this team can. Hes not being used properly, and of course a lot of it is his fault, not excusing him. But if you cannot see why people…
Nobody hates Brady Martin. We just hate the pick. It was not smart at 5th overall. If you're dead set on Martin, trade back to 7th or 8th... he'd likely still be there. Hagens and Martone both have the ceilings to be franchise level players. Brady Martin could be a 2C, maybe.

What is ignored is Briere moved out Farabee, Frost, Laughton and Poehling and only added Zegras and Dvorak. When Foerster went down they were really thin at forward. For some reason, they look better offensively after adding Martone, Forester and Bump.
I Really like Eklund, especially for the value at the rank he was drafted. Along with Martone & Frondell, he’s probably the Forward from last year’s draft I’m the most excited to see in the big league.
Victor Eklund had a good season in the SHL, which improved his odds. He's also shown some promise in the AHL so far, with 3 assists in 3 games with Bridgeport. A good AHL season next year on a stacked Hamilton Islanders team will be huge for his development. #Isles
Those lines assume none of Foerster, Tippett, Michkov, or Martone is in the deal. I guess then it is only draft picks/prospects going to STL?
So why is Martone playing so many minutes at 19? Maybe b/c Martone has a NHL body, is in great condition and tries to play a two way game? Tocchet is treating Michkov no different than Cooper did Kucherov at the same age.
The Islanders need a spark and some energy - hence bringing up Eklund would be a great move - the Flyers brought up the young player - Martone
