Interesting. Then Sonic 4 adapts Sonic CD with elements from Heroes (Neo Metal Sonic pretending to be Eggman). Similar to how Sonic 3 ended up being a loose adaptation of SA2 with some elements from Shadow's game (i.e: his teleportation, The Dark Rider bike and him using a gun).

The US soundtrack for Sonic CD is overhated, and strives to do a lot different from the Japanese one. They're both good.

My genuine reaction as I watch Sonic abandon Amy in Sonic CD because he trusts in himself and believes Amy can take care of herself (This essentially results to Sonic Prime's Metal Amy, but less tragic and more stupid)
Sonic always talked in the Genesis era, just not in the games cuz that's not where the majority of the story was. He talked in the manuals, which were where the bulk of the narrative structure came from, and even had lines in CD.
Filtering, however, should have art assets that were made with it in mind. If it was made with fine pixel detail, it just becomes blurred out. Behold this abomination:
