Back then the championship was merely a framework to link together the story of each race. Nowadays that framework is treated as the only story, so the races become forgettable.

Was watching the 2003 Southern 500 and this was the points standing with 11 races remaining. A 389 point lead for Kenseth. Essentially the championship was already wrapped up with so many races remai... (via u/MrSimsational) reddit.com/comments/1n5yy… #NASCAR

I can't fully blame @NASCAR for Austin Hill being on the track. Only an asshole would give an asshole like Austin Hill a ride. And he does "drive" for @RCRracing and Richard has shown himself to be an asshole for quite some time.

I just reminded myself of why I pretty much stopped going on @X Especially when it comes to @NASCAR . Signing off until I forget why I avoid this.

It doesn’t bother me when yellows don’t get thrown for me or I get penalties that are questionable IT MAKES ME MAD AS HELL when it’s not the same for others, which has been the case too many times over the last few years.

@NASCAR NEVER throws a yellow for @keselowski. Same thing a few years ago when he was leading the Bristol night race. Out in the lead, blown right front and not a peep.

I’ve had an idea to make F1 racing more consistently exciting. Don’t use tracks where overtaking is difficult.

"I'm sorry, I said the Xfinity Series was a dumpster fire, it's not. A dumpster fire is contained. And that series is not right now." - Mike Joy on the FS1 broadcast on last night's finish. "[Sammy Smith] should have been launched at least to last position" Clint Bowyer adds.

Clown show. Lol. Like the joker, and good clown show is ALWAYS entertaining, but call it racing? I'd call it "dumping a guy because you can't beat him". Afterwards he says "everybody does it". Didn't your mamma teach you right from wrong Sammy? My mom said "if everybody was…

Rewatching the @NASCAR_Xfinity ending is atrocious. It is NOT ok to lead the race and just get dumped on the last lap without penalty. Imagine if the same rules were applied to IMSA (which nascar owns). You lead the whole Rolex 24 and get pushed out the last lap? And it’s ok? No.

Not sure why Nascar got away from rough driving penalties. Hell, I have been parked for rough driving.

For anyone disgusted with the lack of racecraft in today's @NASCAR_Xfinity race, just remember this is the future of @NASCAR

As a centrist without any party affiliation, I can see both sides and the name calling. That doesn't make me want to join either side. I don't want to be an anarchist or support anarchy, so I don't vote blue. I don't want to be a fascist or support fascism, so I don't vote red.

i love nascar but i just can’t jive with the “modern era.” call me a boomer, everything just feels fake and forced. playoffs, stages, “close” racing, questionable cautions & penalties (which aren’t new but def a weekly occurrence now) it just turns me away. i miss what it was.

Mike Johannes сделал(а) репост

Great! So the next logical step is to get rid of playoffs, overtime, and stages (quarters)! After all, we wouldn’t want to be like the NBA…right? RIGHT?!!!

.@NASCAR's outside counsel: "I don’t think Mr. Polk really understands the sport. ... His view is it should be much more like the NBA ... He’s done a lot of things that might work in the NBA or might be OK in the NBA but just are not appropriate in NASCAR."apnews.com/article/nascar…

The Daytona 500 makes me sad. It means that the best racing of the year is over. The best racing happens between Phoenix and Daytona. Turkey Night, Gateway Dirt Nationals, Snowball Derby, Chili Bowl, IMCA Winter Nationals, Vado, Volusia and New Smyrna. Now it's back to NASCAR 😴

Am I the only one who noticed that the 7 triggered all three of the wrecks after ten to go in the @NASCAR_Xfinity race?

Every #daytona24h broadcast, I feel the need to tell @NASCAR people, @Cadillac and @Acura reps "shh, I'm trying to watch the race " It's like when the people sitting behind you make it hard to follow the movie as they are talking about their lives.

Mike Johannes сделал(а) репост

Not enough experience on dancing with the stars I guess

NASCAR has not approved Mike Wallace to race the Daytona 500 because he has not raced on an intermediate or larger racetrack since 2015.

Mike Johannes сделал(а) репост

Elton Sawyer ran just 29 Cup races with ZERO wins. 392 Busch/Xfinity races with 2. That's right 2 wins. Shouldn't the guy that's the competition director have been competitive at some point in his career @NASCAR

Mike Johannes сделал(а) репост

It’s insane how NASCAR can see this on the race track but can’t see a whole car in the tires… Maybe, I’m making a bigger deal than I should about the end of the Xfinity race, but mannn…

Lawless Alan finishing fifth at Dega doesn't prove that he has skills as much as it proves that Dega doesn't require any skill whatsoever.
