2nd XI keeper suggested his dropped catches were due to the pink ball… apparently it was unnecessary for me to remind him he couldn’t catch a red ball last season either….

The cricket season is officially back: 50 overs spent freezing in the field, a couple dropped off my bowling and out for a first-baller. But still can’t wait for next week.

Apparently asking if the changing room could be emptied to make room for changing room cricket was unacceptable.
Faced last two balls of innings today…hit my first ball for a 4, second for a huge 6. Our new opening bat didn’t massively appreciate me asking how he made batting look so difficult out there.
Although in fairness it is the 1st time the 1st XI have won their first game of the season since the @StaffsCricket Virtual Cricket County Cup in 2020…
In a rare occurrence both the 1st XI and 2nd XI managed to win today… just a shame social media doesn’t seem to mention the 2nd XI but are proudly announcing that the 1st XI are top of the league.

Seems like most places will have a delayed start if we manage to get any play in at all… remember changing room cricket is just as important as league cricket…
