Post my daily progress here to keep me going. Hope to go from hello, world to working in deep learning. Also do an hour a day of mathematics, I code the rest.

My Year Goal: Take CS50 Intro to CS, then Web Programming on EDX. Then build a website project (more later), while working on other people's projects on github. Eventually, take AI classes. Biggest Goal: Build my own project from scratch. github.com/jaaackthecat

#100DaysOfCode #1000DaysofCode Day 20: Almost got through the first part of the problem set. I hope this is the longest problem set of the class (I think it will be). I am starting to grasp the concepts much better. Only had an hour and a half to work today. Manana

#100DaysofCode #1000DaysofCode Day 19: STILL working through the problem set for week 4 cs50x. Streamed at twitch.tv/jack_codes. I'm not going to cheat because obviously if it's taking me this long it is important.

#100DaysofCode #1000DaysofCode Day 18: Watched 2 hours pointer video. Did the first half of the problem set over. Almost got done with it. Definitely the hardest problem set so fat. Manana youtube.com/watch?v=zuegQm…

Day 17: I cannot complete the week 4 problem sets (cs50x). I refuse to cheat so I am watching youtube.com/watch?v=zuegQm… and getting back in. Cheers

Day 16: Did the week 4 cs50x lab. Took me forever. Working through the problem set slowly now.

#100DaysOfCode Watched week 4 lecture and then the week 4 shorts in cs50x. This was about 4 hours in total. Going to try the lab/problem set tomorrow.

#100DaysOfCode Day 14: Finished the problem set for week 3 in cs50x. Took me much longer than I thought it would. Back at it tomorrow

#100DaysOfCode Day 13: Spent all day doing the "more comfortable" option of week 3 problem set (tideman). Took forever to write functions, bug fixing each function and couldn't finish. Going to try again tomorrow. Refuse to cheat!

#100DaysofCode Day 12: Did the "Week 3" problem set in CS50x. Did "Plurality" easily. "Runoff" (less comfortable option) took me all day but I got it done with no help. Tomorrow I'm gunna try to do the more comfortable option. If I have time I will get through the next lecture.

#100DaysOfCode Day 11: Went through the week 3 shorts (a little over an hour). Then did week 3 lab. Easiest lab so far, no coding just analyzing how different sort algos work better or worse depending on context. Easiest day so far. Going to do week 3 problem set tomorrow.

Day 10: rewrote the sub problem from scratch. Took me about an hour. Watched week 3 class (algorithms). 2.5 hour class.

Day 9: Started over with the caesar problem. Was able to figure it out after about an hour (much easier than sub). Couldn't figure out sub for a few hours, checked stackoverflow. Going to rewrite tomorrow from scratch now that I know how to think about it.

Day 8: Did the first part of the problem set of week 2 (readibility) way faster than I thought. Something clicked. Then tried to do substitution for hours and failed. Going to try caesar first and then substitution tomorrow.

Day 7: Stayed up late trying to solve the scrabble problem on my own and couldn't. When I peeked at the hint (allowed for lab) I was actually very close. Still wrapping my head around implementing arrays inside of arrays.

Day 6: Watched Week 2: Arrays lesson in CS50x. Was really tired from work and dozing off might have to come back some doing the problem set. Learned about arrays (obviously). I understand their function but I don't think I understand them enough to implement them myself.

Day 5: Did the week 1 problem set. Did the "more comfortable" Mario game program (constructing pyramids of blocks based on user input), and the "more comfortable" credit program (validating credit card numbers). The mario one was easy to me, card one was a lot harder but was fun.

Day 4: Went through the CS50 shorts for week 1. Did the first lab. Simple hello world program and then a simple population calculator program. Again, took me longer than I would like to admit but it was really fun.

Day 3: Watched CS50 week 1 lesson. Learned about basic C. Conditions, loops, booleans, etc. Also learned about command-line interface. It was cool but I want to get to programming.

Day 2: I made a scratch project for CS50 of a dino dancing to drake, with a loop of a cat dancing poorly. It took me way longer than I want to admit. scratch.mit.edu/projects/47510…
