Not surprising, given the structure, and emphasis on skills and fundamentals. AAU- one or two practices a week and 4 games/weekend.
Turkey defeats USA in the third place game of the U19 World Cup. Led from start to finish and were clearly the better team. Bigger, smarter, more skilled, better organized. Big wakeup call for USA Basketball. Will have to recruit and prepare better. Talent gap has been erased.
I personally believe D1 or Bust is detrimental to the game of basketball, recruiting, and young people’s future.. BUT, it’s YOUR choice! Do what you believe to be the best thing for YOU! Just because some people on Twitter say it, that doesn’t make it true for you!

90% of NCAA coaches call HS/AAU coaches to inquire about your grades, work ethic, personality, etc. before any interest or offer. NCAA coaches are looking for gym rats, bookworms & good character type recruits. Don’t assume it’s all about scoring & winning. Student Athlete 📦.
