Our image was selected as the back cover of @LabonaChip! It was created by Mika Hayashi, a first-author, UTokyo PhD student. Outstanding art! pubs.rsc.org/en/content/art…
Our accepted manuscript was opened in @LabonaChip ! The title is "Is AI essential? Examining the need for deep learning in image-activated sorting of Saccharomyces cerevisiae." pubs.rsc.org/en/content/art…
It doesn’t happen every day that you bump into Manu Prakash @PrakashLab. Thanks to the organizers for bringing all those excellent people together in Dresden! #EMBOlivingsys23 @PoLDresden
We are looking for two talented „Bioimage Analysis and AI Research Software Scientists“ to join us @humantechnopole. Positions are funded via #AI4LIFE (HorizonEurope), and will help the life sciences to better utilize cutting-edge AI methods… 🧵 tinyurl.com/AI4LIFEjobs #AI #ML
In image activated cell sorting, it’s crucial to predict when cells arrive at the sorting point, especially when the latency is large. In our new paper we employ machine learning (XGBoost) and morphological features to predict sorting times more accurately onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/cy…
Our new study shows that data availability statements are not very useful; 1670 (93%) authors who indicated that data are available on request either did not respond or declined to share their data with us. Journal of Clinical Epidemiology: doi.org/10.1016/j.jcli…
It's so cool to meet scientists with similar vision here @ISAC_CYTO and then spontaneously do some sightseeing. Thanks @SchraivogelS for the nice chat! (please note the "Liberty Bell" in the background)
We are enjoying the in-person conference CYTO2022 (@ISAC_CYTO) in Philadelphia and are looking forward to our talks! Our team has a total of 8 talks 🤓!
🥹 I'm so proud. The first student from my team gloriously finished her masters! The best thing: she will stay for PhD! Congratulations @NTiffanyIshii
Our M.S. students are looking great here after their graduation. Congrats!
A new paper from @Gucklab, studying #cellmechanics during #Acanthocytosis. We (ab)used the RT-DC setup to measure blood in different microfluidic chips designs with different shear stresses. #RareDisease Congrats Felix!
Our M.S. students are looking great here after their graduation. Congrats!
Quite a cool topic, and I’m happy I could contribute a bit 🔽
🚨To develop #AI for enhancing the images of our imaging flow cytometer, we employed Cycle-GAN (shout out to @junyanz89) since it allows to use unpaired datasets for training. For more info, find our article at @LabonaChip: pubs.rsc.org/en/Content/Art…
Happy to share our (@KarenTe10 @GuckLab) latest paper about image-based sorting of photoreceptors (PR). After #AI powered sorting, PR cells were transplanted into🐁 retina where they survived and integrated. However, there were MANY challenges: nature.com/articles/s4159…
🌨️It snowed in Tokyo! Two colleagues (@LKacenauskaite @RKinegawa) and me used the rare event for some special sightseeing #Sensoji Temple #Asakusa ☃️
First day after holiday and getting a mail that starts: "We are delighted to let you know that the above submission, has been accepted for publication" is a really nice way to start this year :) Happy new year everybody!
