In the last week, elvers have begun to return to our Norfolk rivers. Over the last 30 years, eel numbers have declined by 95% in part because of manmade barriers. Fish passes or the removal of weirs can help with the migration along the river.

Good news from the CDL MERI - spawning activities in Danube tributaries like the Traisen! #LifeTraisen #CDG @verbundag @via_donau #OEBF @BOKUvienna

Our stationary antenna in the Traisen already registers hundreds of fish swimming upstream from the Danube to spawn. Nase, whith their distinct spawning rash are the first to arrive followed by barbel. Open migration paths are essential for the survival of many fish species.
