The ear system is truly amazing. I was thinking that if it weren't for its amazing design regarding attenuation of low-frequency perception, it would be extremely difficult to function while walking, or while others walked nearby.
Acoustic control means both noise control & sound quality. The measures listed are general and may include the source, the path, and/or the receiver. In addition, they typically include more than one means of control: block, absorb, break or isolate. Red rectangle are structural.

Using geophones to determine an appropriate isolation floor system in a posh neighborhood on Long Island, I recorded a seismic event. Note the sub 5 Hz. activity.

Impacts on floor spans resonate, but are quite low in frequency. The big problems arise when we enclose floor, wall, and ceiling cavities, which raises the resonant frequencies, and now they sympathize with the music we're playing.
This is the primary low frequency floor impact test rig I designed for Kinetics Noise Control many years ago. I got a couple of white papers and presentations out of it for ASA and IINCE. We learned and shared a lot!

We often hear that mass is king for noise control (transmission Loss), or rigidity is king for loudspeaker cabinets (resonance control). Both are parts of a system as seen in the graph below. To improve performance, other systems must be added like damping, isolation, etc.
Cut the floating floor to make three isolated sections; one for each speaker and one for the listening area.
