This housing crisis poses a serious threat to the nation's security and stability, potentially exacerbating social inequality and leading to political disorder and social unrest if left unaddressed.
Legal and Regulatory Hurdles: Complex land ownership laws and bureaucratic processes hinder housing development, making it difficult for the urban poor to secure legal titles to their land.
One of the Several factors contribute to this housing deficit: Inadequate Infrastructure and Services: Informal settlements often lack basic infrastructure and services, affecting residents' quality of life and posing significant health risks.

The Philippines is currently facing a significant housing crisis, with a shortage of approximately 6.5 million homes as of 2023, a figure projected to escalate to 22 million by 2040.
