This isn’t an unpopular opinion. The failed policymakers of this country have been repeating this excuse for decades. We know ours is a complex society with unique problems but it doesn’t absolve those with the responsibility to make things better.
Unpopular opinion and I’m ready for the brickbats that follow. But anyone who compares Singapore and India has the same energy as those who used to praise Jacinda Arden’s handling of Covid in New Zealand. The scale of the problems aren’t even in the same ballpark to be compared.
As someone who want to see my country prosper, its a shame that this is the only alternative we have to the present regime. We deserve better.
