FF7R: The context/subject is defined as romance, when Aerith tells Cloud not to fall in love with her. They have a brief exchange, and his answer is, you guessed it, “I will pick you up/get you”, the same as the above examples. The English translation below is also acceptable!
Cloud & Aerith were childhood friends in KH1 so I wouldn’t be surprised if the developers return to this idea in some way shape or form in Part 3.
