Mathematics of Space Juggling! Mathematica notebook: community.wolfram.com/groups/-/m/t/2… The simulation in the web browser runs a bit slow. I suggest clicking the down arrow button a few times to really slow down the speed of the animation. youtu.be/yYkzz4ZBHt8

Remember that in weightlessness thrown balls travel in straight lines? While I am spinning, I do not see straight lines. I see curves. In my rotating reference frame, we can see these paths together and enjoy a spinning universe.

Space Juggling: Film Release Event and Q&A
Space Juggling is the first circus performance technique designed for zero gravity. Come and see unprecedented space movement art.
In weightlessness, it is possible to spin your body in a cartwheel. I love this because it is the only way you can spin and face in the same direction. Would be possible to throw balls down to myself? It is! The challenge is throwing the balls so they arrive at your hand.
When learning to juggle in weightlessness, the first thing to understand is that the balls will move in straight lines. They will not move in parabolas like we're all used to. Juggler: @AdamDipert Design: @kaci_torres Videography: Jeremy Lewis
We just received the most current issue of @ROOM__Space and it contains the first published Space Juggling article! It received significant contributions from Thom Waymouth, Jeremy Lewis, @kaci_torres, @cosmobiologist, and the ROOM editors. Space Juggling is a team effort!
Lighting the Space Juggling videos was a huge challenge! The ring shown has 450 individually addressable LEDs on the ring which could be remotely controlled by the sensor (posted yesterday). That was also implemented using an Adafruit ESP32 Huzzah Board and Arduino IDE.
Tomorrow at 10:30 am eastern, @AdamDipert will be joining host and dancer @gillianperforms on the STEAM Cafe on the CosmoQuestX Twitch Stream. Join us to discover more about Space Juggling. twitch.tv/cosmoquestx
We're excited to share the Space Juggling logo with you today! We wanted to reference our planetary heritage, our orbital trajectory, and our spaceships. There are a number of other influences in the logo design however. I'm willing to bet you can identify some of them?
Sunday morning, 7 am Working hard to translate my journal article version of Space Juggling math into a Mathematica notebook, so it can be shared more easily in an interactive way with everyone on the internet. #thisismylfe #circusmath
Huge THANKS to space journalist Leonard David, who did an excellent job of distilling the salient topics from "Choreographic techniques for human bodies in weightlessness." leonarddavid.com/are-you-ready-…
I may not save the world from certain destruction like Bruce Willis in Armageddon, but I can embody his manliness with the epic space suit we made specifically for Space Juggling! Costume designed by @kaci_torres, photography by Jeremy Lewis @dearmoonproject #spacejuggling
One of my favorite things I've done in weightlessness. I start spinning around one axis, changed body position which changes its relationship to the angular momentum, change position again, and end up spinning around a different body axis than when I started. @gozerog #science
The second phase of @dearmoonproject applications was due today. This is my favorite upcoming civilian spaceflight. I would love to create an actual #stardance with the other crew members! Thank you so much for allowing us to participate @yousuckMZ!
Curious about what we actually need to know to make dance and movement art in #space? Initially for #IAC2019 in DC, this paper summarizes practices and offers analysis of human movements in #weightlessness and analog environments to develop competence. authors.elsevier.com/a/1ca1BLWHFy3Ss
