Redefining Linux for the modern era
Ko-fi goal reset for April 2025! Join us on our journey to redefine what it is to distribute Linux. #opensource #Funding #linux #AerynOS ko-fi.com/post/Goal-rese…
Alright, granted, this is a little ugly looking, but *does* demonstrate the functioning multiprocess separation for the imminently upcoming lichen-installer overhaul. Next up, "do the roar". Er, wipe the disk/install, that is.
Our rebootstrap is almost complete, with the merged llvm project packages now in, polly fixes landing, and the transition path from x86_64-serpent-linux -> x86_64-aerynos-linux in place. Likely first sync this evening or early morning. :)
Now we're cookin'. Toolchain updates coming over the weekend while we reseed the infra, update core toolchain packages, and swap the host triplet from x86_64-serpent-linux to x86_64-aerynos-linux This will come through in a couple of days as an entirely boring, uneventful update
Don't forget, if you like what we're doing, you can always help us get there a bit faster by supporting us on Ko-fi or Github sponsors: ko-fi.com/aerynos aerynos.com/sponsor/ Immediate goals include the acquisition of more Red Bull, and expanding our infra capacity.
New blog: "AerynOS: The OS As Infrastructure" - We're not just another Linux distro. We're redefining how operating systems work with atomic updates, stateless design, and innovative boot management. Read more: aerynos.com/blog/2025/03/2… #Linux #OpenSource
Shiny updates this morning include Firefox 136.0.4 and Linux 6.13.9. The 6.14 series will be coming but will need testing before we push it.

This latest release was a um.. clean room implementation. The hospital room from which it was readied.. :)
Hello, #AerynOS! So long, #SerpentOS. Same project, just much, much better. Grab the latest 2025.03 ISO with GNOME 48, HDR support, Linux 6.13.8 and a bunch of updates and polishing. aerynos.com/blog/2025/03/2…
Pulling off the rebrand while maintaining an upgrade path and not requiring *any* intervention whilst doing so atomically, was quite a challenge. Our next blog post will go into how we pulled off the seamless transition. One key component was os-info: github.com/AerynOS/os-info
