I'm always amazed at how alfalfa roots are already >2" when the seedling emerges. Alfalfa roots grow so fast that there isn't much need for continual irrigation after seedling emergence unless soil is very sandy.
I have heard a lot of chatter on cutting inputs on wheat this fall. While I am all about reducing inputs I want to caution, that reducing P should not be done unless soil test supports the decision. And even then..... osunpk.com/2022/08/30/pho…
