Our paper out today shows lung cancer screening continues to be suboptimal in eligible US adults, especially in individuals facing healthcare access barriers. But Medicare expansions and increasing screening capacity are potential levers that can make a dent.
Only 18.1% of eligible individuals were up-to-date with recommended lung cancer screening nationwide, with 3-fold variation across states (9% to 31%) and particularly low prevalence in high mortality burden Southern states. ja.ma/45z9gSl @AmericanCancer @pritibandi
