The way technology takes effect in the classroom is such a creative way to get students involved with things they most likely use daily @ED350_WCDE #GlobalMakerDay2019

As a preservice educator I love how classrooms can be adjusted to give students room to create all types of projects! @ED350_WCDE #GlobalMakerDay2019

This year, I've made a commitment to start applying @iste standards while working with teachers & students on #edtech. What are @iste standards? Well, this music video will get you started: youtube.com/watch?v=ooTbKE…

A1:I think of teaching students or engaging them to learn with real life situations! It might give them a better understanding of concepts if they can put it into perspective they understand. #NoVAedchat

Q1: What kind of things do you think of when you think of “Authentic Learning?” What does that phrase mean to you? #NoVAedChat @wgibsonSBTS

A3: With the quote it makes me think that black students will feel like an outcast. Or if they are treated different and have more intrusive disciplinary actions taken because they don't feel equal in class. You can change that by equal opportunity. @ED350_WCDE #NoVAedchat

Q3 How might discipline policies disproportionately target black students? What needs to change at the school, district, or system-wide level to support black students in schools? #novaedchat @The_MrsMorales @qualitymind

A2: ensure that everyone os treated equally even outisde the classroom if you can. Students are there to learn. @ED350_WCDE #NoVAedchat

Q2 Reflecting on your own practice, what are some areas that you have the power and access to change an oppressive system? #NoVAedchat @The_MrsMorales @qualitymind

I've seen some issues as a pre service teacher where a student's color affected who they work with but to me it's not about race at that point its about an educator choosing students of their favorite to teach which is wrong. #NoVaedchat @ED350_WCDE

Q1 What are some issues or practices that you’ve encountered as an educator that people currently believe are not about race, but actually may be? #NoVAedchat @The_MrsMorales @qualitymind

A1: I would define community as as the district teachers peers and even parents coming together to reach a goal! @ED350_WCDE #teacheredchat

Q1: How would you define community in Teacher Ed? Share the details. #teacheredchat

A2: I would have a motivational vibe. For example have posters that include sayings like "The power of yet" meaning just because the student can't do something doesn't mean they won't. It just means they hav done it yet. Motivate students to work for more. @ED350_WCDE

A1: The part that stands out to me is "...but where I am already strong i look to develop those strengths". Its important to succeeed but to also push yourself as a student and educator to do more and excel in anything that makes you greater! @ED350_WCDE

A1: This is important to educators because you don't want your students to see that failure all the time is okay. They have to understand it will happens sometimes but to use it to create new ideas! Failure is a part of learning @ED350_WCDE
