There can be no excuse for the appalling antisemitism we have seen in the UK today. Such hatred here will not help bring long overdue peace with justice in Israel/Palestine. As we continue to pray for the Holy Land we must reject violence, the threat of violence and antisemitism.

Amazing, grounded, encouragement and comfort throughout Covid.

He made it count, didn't he, old Captain Tom? For all those worrying about how much time we'll have lost when this ghastly crisis finally ends, what an inspiring reminder that you might be 99 years old and still have some of your greatest adventures ahead of you. RIP.

Short thread on how DfE sneaked out a £250 million cut to school budgets in the middle of a pandemic and how it will impact the poorest and most vulnerable pupils No publicity, no great public announcement as @educationgovuk cut £1/4 billion from its Pupil Premium budget

The mental and physical health burden is huge. The massive increase in stress, no leave for months, fewer breaks or respite from front line care. So many patients dying. Many staff will have had Covid & some long covid. Many have lost relatives and friends to Covid. 5/12

Today I cried for the first time at work- being in charge of ICU, and trying to rally positivity in a world where we are back to where we were in March, without the public support that we had, is super tough. Sending love and hugs to ICU’s across the UK tonight. ❤️

‘The overrunning of the NHS would be a medical & moral disaster’ says @BorisJohnson. He was unmoved in 2017 when the Red Cross declared a humanitarian crisis in the NHS, with massive queues in emergency departments & people dying on trolleys. We should have increased beds then.

Where is Milania? Just wondering is she getting better or feeling a poorly?

There was me thinking #Trump might have been quietened down a bit after his brush with the " #ChinaVirus ". From his soundbites today, (which I've done my best to ignore), it sounds like he may have become even more dangerous.

We need to talk about university students, many of whom are 18-year-olds - adolescents - living away from home for the first time. I’m hearing distressing stories about isolation, loneliness and being stuck in rooms. Are we getting it right? Are other countries doing it better?
