The rules should be changed and the only reason @GMHikaru said what he said was to show the stupidity of FIDE inaction. He’s not trying to flaunt a rule to get away with it. He’s trying to get FIDE to f$cking pay attention and do something- instead FIDE keeps doing nothing!!🥸
Some time ago Nakamura said he will play "Mickey Mouse" tournaments to comply with the FIDE requirements to qualify for the Candidates by rating. Firouzja did something similar last year. While not against the rules, this feels odd. Should the rules be changed?
