October 5–11 is Banned Books Week! This year’s theme, “Censorship Is So 1984 — Read for Your Rights,” reminds us that the freedom to read is essential to a free society. Join us as we celebrate stories that challenge, inspire, and connect us everyone deserves the right to read

This year’s Banned Books Week theme reminds us that the right to read belongs to all of us, that censorship has no place in contemporary society, and that we must defend our rights. Banned Books Week will take place October 5 – 11, 2025.

What was so special about Friday Night Special? Everything! We enjoyed food from Firewater BBQ, sampled local craft beers and enjoyed the tunes by Bourbon Aristocracy. That wasn't all! We played mini golf, shot some hoops and had our caricature drawn by artist Roger Hurtado.




Had a great time at Alsip Fire Open House on Saturday.
