Feeling burnt out? Burn your stack of grading instead

Teams and Slack have empowered the reply-all coworker to the nth degree

“Hey would you be willing to coach debate for a small stipend? You’ll need to spend every other Saturday in a gymnasium or classroom while the students participate in a day-long tournament.”

Trying to grade after a four-day weekend

current activity: revising and editing an email to a parent where I am attempting to diplomatically say “you have raised a hellion who disrupts the classroom daily.”

Teachers have no chill when it comes to using Teams.

spent 15 minutes discussing plagiarism in a staff meeting today. if a student can copy and paste their answers from the internet, maybe the assignment needs some adjusting?

a teacher’s greatest love is their students* *choosing just the right font

Just had a student message me on a Saturday afternoon to let me know I have a typo on my weekly announcement. Um get a life??

My boss sent out a survey on Friday asking all teachers how the start of the year is going to get some feedback. I was honest and basically said I’m overworked and overwhelmed and here’s why. Her TL;DR response is “yep, this job is tough.”

Love when admin announces our school just earned a big grant and finding out that none of the funds will affect classrooms whatsoever lol

If 18-21-year-olds asked you if they should pursue a career in teaching, what would you say to them?

If your boss consistently proclaims that the staff is “a family,” that’s a deal breaker

no teacher has ever been fully ready for the first day of school and the reason for that is the copy machine

Imagine the turnover rates if teachers didn’t get the summers off

Put down the lesson plans 📚 and pick up a cocktail 🍹

If you are lesson planning for the fall, I command you to stop and head to the closest beach!
