This is a wonderfully curated collection of two-sentence horror stories that I couldn't be more proud to have a story in. Lauren has done an amazing job, and it's all for charity. You should buy it because it's amazing. But you should own it because it's virtuous.
To editors who might be Googling me: I am not the Brian Wells in Kentucky who posts videos of firecrackers exploding in fire ant mounds. Unless you think it would sell more books. Then I'm totally that guy.
Peter writes thoughtful Science Fiction, and I'm looking forward to reading this. Galaxies and the civilizations they contain are continuously spilling off the edge of our observable universe. How can we tell them we'll miss them?

Peter is one of my favorite contemporary SF authors, and he's also a good friend. (Yes, I'm bragging.) In this interview, he discusses his approach to writing, among a great many other things.

#FromMyWIP: Chloe whispered, "So romantic. Look at her. That's the way I hugged you when we first met." "You mean at the restaurant?" "No, silly." Chloe drew her finger down his sternum. "In Bobby's basement. You were dead at the time." "Ah, yes," Preston said. "Memories."
#FromMyWIP: Chloe turned her unrelenting, penetrating gaze toward Preston. "You love me." "Yes." "Good god, I pointed a loaded gun at you, my finger on the trigger, and you still love me. Why?" Preston let the rock slip from his hand. "Sometimes, madness needs a voice."
