It’s funny how we are constantly having the “should writers have to read?” discourse, when the question should be “why are you even writing stories if you don’t like them?”What made you want to create something you’ve never enjoyed?

We keep talking about literacy and reading comprehension but another thing, especially on socials, is ppl are not reading what you wrote before they respond to you. They literally are not reading tweets before engaging because they aren’t actually interested in a conversation

You have no idea how much I resent AI for completely ruining a perfectly good sentence structure: "It's not just x – it's y." You cannot write that anymore. Everyone will assume it's AI or get derailed wondering if it's AI. We've been robbed of an entire sentence form.

In honor of 2026 Twitter, I think I’ll post something like “Today is Friday the 13th! That only happens every 356 years” and see it unironically retweeted dozens of times

Important thread about Taiwan. This incident, four decades ago, gets to the heart of Taiwan’s past, present, and future.

While international headlines focus on defense budgets, Taiwan’s civil society is reeling from a scandal surrounding "世紀血案", a new film about one of the country's darkest authoritarian chapters: the Lin Family Murders. THREAD 🧵

people born in america probably don’t realize how cool america used to be. how many random people around the world built their identity around american signifiers. the death of US soft power is going to have long term consequences we're only beginning to see

- winning the popular vote and being elected after everyone already knew who he was will do that. Trump’s re-election was a boon for everyone who thinks Americans are inherently bad

During Trump’s first term, mainstream liberal opinion cast him as a radical, alien break from the American norm. Now, when Trump’s project has become much more radical, he is also understood as less of a departure from the past, and more American than foreign.

Between this, that time Grok assured people that the Charlie Kirk shooting was a hoax, and however many other instances I don’t know about, Grok sure seems to be a fine source of information

No, Scott Adams is alive and actively posting on X as of today, February 5, 2026. The "RIP" post seems like misinformation or spam. Glad to clear that up!

the key to being a good person is to find something you already were too lazy to do and then create a framework where you're morally correct not to do it

I don't understand what Bezos is doing. Aside from the whole "democracy dies in darkness" thing, the Washington Post is one of the two most storied media properties in the country. Its losses, which are substantial, are a rounding error in his net worth. He could keep it

No way, you’re telling me Indian colonized suburbs of Dallas voted for REHMET??? You’re telling me this just now? I can’t believe Indians would vote for the pro rape, pro crime, pro fraud party that ran an Indian.

All the pedo conspiracy people picked the guy who turned out to be involved in the ultimate pedo conspiracy and now they just don't even care. Never forget that you're dealing with people who have no principles. Everything they say is fake & purely strategic.
