On Sep 25 1888, British military officer, Dame Vera Laughton Mathews was born. Mathews was the 2nd Director of the Women's Royal Naval Service (WRNS), serving from 1939-1946. Her charity supported the education of former WRNS members' daughters. #VeraLaughtonMathews #WomanOTDay
