You may have noticed a name change of our twitter page/handle. It’s because our former chapter, Fox Valley DSA, has folded. HOWEVER! the ZIP codes included in it were restructured and built into 3 new and active chapters in DSA Green Bay, DSA Appleton, and DSA Oshkosh.
We are enraged by the police murder of Tyre Nichols. Years of liberal police reform has failed to protect our communities. The assumption that police are here to protect us, and that we only need to weed out excessive tendencies, stand decisively disproven.
46 men — including a high school football coach and a youth pastor — were arrested during a multi-agency operation targeting sex trafficking in North Texas. There are no reports of drag queens being arrested in the operation. bit.ly/3D0zikf
🧵Wisconsin DOC wants a new youth prison in Milwaukee. Proponents are pushing lots of false claims to justify this, so we put together this thread to help you learn the facts. Sign our petition at bit.ly/noyouthprison to tell Governor Evers we don't want this facility.
Appleton Area DSA in Wisconsin is looking for someone to fill the role of the chapter's treasurer! Please shoot us a message to express your interest if you are a member in the area. In Solidarity!
I voted tonight against the $858 billion Pentagon budget, which is 10% more than last year. At a time when we spend more than the next 11 nations combined on defense, we should invest in health care, jobs, housing and education – not more weapons of destruction.
In what would be the longest national action of the campaign, @SBWorkersUnited plan to strike at a minimum of 60 @Starbucks stores for three days over the closure of unionized stores. At least 40 more stores will strike for some part of the weekend. restaurantdive.com/news/starbucks…

Starbucks union stages 3-day strike at 60 stores
Starbucks Workers United’s planned walkouts, in protest of union store closures, would be the campaign’s longest national action.
Starbucks workers are DOUBLING DOWN. Starting today, over 1,000 baristas are walking out on a THREE DAY STRIKE, making this the longest collective action of our campaign yet. #DoubleDownStrike
Reminder! Meeting up for a social tomorrow! We're getting coffee at the unionized Starbucks in Appleton! Union Strong!
We're ALL IN for the Secure Jobs Act. From Amazon to UPS, Starbucks, & beyond, workers are standing up & demanding fairer workplaces. We’re following their lead by demanding protections against unfair & arbitrary firings for every single worker in NYC. ✊
We’re fighting for the Secure Jobs Act so that… ✅Bosses can’t fire you for no reason ✅Unjustly terminated workers can hold employers accountable ✅Workers have more power to defend their rights on the job Let's stop unjust firings together. 💥
Red Star condemns the votes by DSA's endorsed Congressional electeds against the demands of the rail unions. We are, again, seeing a failure of our electoral work to foster class struggle and a mass movement that would advance that struggle.
Railroad workers are fighting for sick time. Urge congress support sick time in rail legislation and empower workers. Sign on individually or as an organization to this open letter to Congress and the President. docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAI…
This is a legacy defining moment for Joe Biden. He is going down as one of the biggest disappointments in labor history.
I'm calling on Congress to pass legislation immediately to adopt the Tentative Agreement between railroad workers and operators. Let me be clear: a rail shutdown would devastate our economy. Without freight rail, many U.S. industries would shut down.
Hello, I'm Jay, the interim social media manager for Appleton Area DSA. Excited to announce that our Facebook and Twitter are up and running again!

Yesterday, there was doubt within the march that we could take on the Mason St. Bridge. We did anyways. Many people woke up to the power of the many vs the few. Don’t let your power go to waste. Make Change!
big thing we noticed at the end of the night even when the crowd thinned to less than 30 people: Green Bay and Appleton got a rat problem. Don’t tell anyone anything personal, use a moniker if you have to.
