NRMP continues to monitor Pres Trump’s planned executive order to temporarily suspend immigration for 60 days for those seeking permnt residency in the US. At this time, J-1 visas for individuals approved to participate in work & study-based exchange do not appear to be included.
NRMP is aware of Pres Trump’s tweet indicating he'll temporarily suspend immigration. Donna Lamb, CEO of NRMP, will contact @ECFMG_IMG to determine how this might affect non-US IMGs that matched into programs for 2020 acad yr. We will communicate further when we have more info.
