🏹Longbow skills were so vital in medieval times that archery practice in England was mandatory on every Sunday after Church - and rival sports such as football, were banned. 🏹Until quite recently it was widely believed that this law had never been repealed. #FolkloreThursday

Ancient arrows. Yes, Africa invented archery, too. Arrowheads as old as 70,000 years have been found in the Sibudu Caves (near Durban, SA). It's likely bows and arrows originated in East Africa much earlier. Ancient Nubia was known as Ta-Seti ("The land of the Bow")
