take it from me, people who obsessively hate on female characters don’t really have a problem with the character herself but it’s the idea of her; there’s always a motive or a bias they’re coming from and they’re so much more transparent than they think it is
Agreed. It is damaging to the cause too. Minorities need meaningful, complex, diverse representation... That must include villains and terrible characters everybody will hate. People must be allowed to like or dislike a character regardless of their belonging to minorities.
Understandable I can see why others like the redemption arc as well
Also, if you take a look at my profile, you will see I identify as a "catradora stan" before anything else. So yes, targeting me with Catra hate (or Adora hate, or Catradora hate) will be perceived as a personal attack because Catradora changed my life for the better.
