I auditioned 3 Neumann mics - TLM103, TLM49, and U87. The most costly was not the best for my voice. TLM49 was winner, not the U87.
Audition your mic! Select from a min of 3 and determine which is best for your voice considering cost as a secondary issue.
How did you select your VO mic? Your mic is a partner in your work. You've got to love it! Understand its personality! Know its voice.
What's your "elephant in the room?" The microphone, producer, studio, script? Make friends with the elephant and accelerate your craft!
