Yup, my last year with the Pawsox I made roughly $16,000 from April to September or roughly $90/day. Add on to that clubhouse dues, rent, gas money, car payment, food outside of the clubhouse. Not glamorous but all for the love of the game!
Baseball America writing about minor league salaries in 1983. The minimum in 1983 would be $1,545 in 2019 using an inflation calculator. The $1,000 would be $2,576 in 2019. Both are significantly higher than the current amounts (when adjusted for inflation).
