You all have attendance awards and shame kids and parents for missing school and THIS shocks you?

"Never in a million years did we imagine or think to account for parents deliberately sending their sick or symptomatic child to school," one health official said. 4.nbcny.com/2fa2G7U

Y’all saying BLM for one situation just don’t sit right with me, it goes beyond police brutality!!! It’s Black women dying at a higher rate during childbirth. It’s Black people being exposed to COVID-19 at a higher rate. It’s Black people being forced into low income communities.

Angela Davis told a group of students to not assume she means them when she talks about leaders of the future & that university students have a tendency to discount the experience & wisdom of people who learned on the street. Yall do that everyday on here.

I’ve been seeing a lot about “anti-racism burnout” lately... which... is a conversation I’m too angry & sad to have. But I’ve ALSO seen a lot of “fixed comfort” floating around. I’d encourage you all to look at the language you’re using to talk about the world today. We see you.

So, Tuesday has passed, and we're still Black, so to everyone who wanted to play ally yesterday, I hope you keep the same energy for yourselves, your peers, your employers, and your families, because our oppression isn't a trend. This is a day-to-day reality. Understand that.

LISTEN TO BLACK PEOPLE RIGHT NOW. DONT GIVE IN TO THESE TRENDS. AS ALLIES WE ARE HERE TO SUPPORT BLACK VOICES. IF BLACK VOICES SAY THAT POSTING BLACK SQUARES IS COUNTERPRODUCTIVE THEN DONT FUCKING DO IT. AMPLIFY BLACK VOICES. LISTEN. TO. THEM.

Stop this performative shit. A black square on social for one day ain’t doing shit. Have us on your shows all the time, not out of guilt or sudden awareness of how unfair the system has been stacked against us.

Whether you like it or not, this year will be written in history, your children will be educated of these events. They are gonna ask you what you did, wouldn’t it be embarrassing to say to your own children that you did nothing because you were uncomfortable.

Today is the anniversary of the Tulsa massacre that happened May 31st, 1921 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. White people attacked, looted and set fire to a black city now known as “Black Wall Street”. 99 years later and here we are.
