There won’t be many pitches looking as good as Dennyfield, 2 days after the last match of the season!! Well done boys!!!
Dennyfield at 2pm. Which way is that Black cloud going?!
Wonder what happened to the black rabbit that adopted Thackley in 2016? Obviously an escaped pet, he was around the ground for several weeks before disappearing. Photo is of a floodlit U18 match, when the rabbit spent the entire match following the linesman up and down the line!
27th November and the Dennyfield pitch looks as good as it did before the season started. Obviously lack of matches recently has helped!
Dennyfield looking superb in the early afternoon Autumn sun!
Dennyfield this morning after yesterday’s match in torrential rain! Not yet 10 o’clock and that man Cuffy has already rolled and spiked it!!
Dennyfield looking pristine after being vertidrained this morning. Looking good for tomorrow’s home game against Maltby MW. 3.00 pm kick off.
Don’t know what Dennyfield will look like when it has a covering of 80 tons of sand!!
Dennyfield looking good after its second cut in four days!
Some great memories there! - and I could remember all the names of the Senior players - even those from 1977! I must be getting old!
Some nostalgia this Tuesday morning. Can you spot yourself, your friends or your family in these pictures from Thackley teams in years gone by? #ThackleyAFC thetelegraphandargus.co.uk/sport/18580493…

NOSTALGIA: Five Thackley teams from years gone by
IN the latest edition of our look back through the T&A archives, here are five team pictures from Thackley’s footballing past.
Dennyfield looking sparkling, thanks to Cuffy, Patty and Thackley’s famous ‘Old Gits’!
7 weeks of the season to go and, despite the weather, Dennyfield looking good. However, a lot of games to be played on it in those seven weeks!!
Following my earlier Tweet, I hope that both great Clubs, Brid and Staveley, get the promotion they deserve! Mixed feelings though, as they would both be greatly missed!
Just another thought!!
If official advice is only to travel when absolutely necessary, football is not absolutely necessary. Leagues should lead the way and instruct clubs to postpone in event of predicted storms. Let’s not forget away teams have to get home afterwards too.
Just a thought!! Thackley are due at Bottesford today, over 100 mile round trip!,
There are no excuses for any late postponements tomorrow. Everyone knows that a storm is coming and that the weather is going to be horrendous. Matches should be called off before the way team and their supporters set off tomorrow.
Today’s Ladies match at Thackley is OFF! Only 3 of the girls can swim and we don’t have enough arm bands for the rest!!
