Boris had a golden opportunity today to be brave.. Sad to say: he flunked it. Guess Winston would never have locked down in the first place. Nicola Sturgeon in Scotland is guaranteed to undermine dear old Bojo by opening up earlier. All very disappointing ☹️

The success of the vaccines has done nothing to dampen the government’s enthusiasm for lockdown. The precautionary principle now trumps everything else. Extraordinary measures have become dangerously ordinary, says @FraserMyers spiked-online.com/2021/02/22/you…

You can be too careful

The lockdown has shown us that the precautionary principle is a menace to liberty.

Anyone expecting Boris to come to the rescue with a rapid unlock is kidding themselves it'll be the squeak of a mouse not the roar of a lion. 😃 On the other hand I do have high hopes for *Wee Jimmy* to do the right thing up here in Scotland 🙂😀😃

All children to be *tested* before being "allowed" back to school. Two thoughts: 1. The country is definitely heading for bankruptcy 2. George Orwell never dreamed up anything like this 🙄

Mark Dolan. Your caller complaining about hospital staff *only* wanting to know if he had covid symptoms. They were protecting the vulnerable rightly. There is a waiting list for mental health support. It can never be the front-line nurses

Lockdowns are the gov'ts way of punishing the majority for the sins of the few. It affects folk who are already in isolation, maintaining social distancing wearing masks etc. Following the rules. Lets face it, 20,000 people who know they are positive are on the streets everyday

The UK death toll is proof lockdowns don’t work.

Why is the north west chief prosecutor using taxpayers' money to pursue what is clearly a political vendetta?? You wouldn't think there are 500,000 other cases needing seeing to. 🙄

The Donald has suddenly got too much time on his hands. Wonder if he composed this letter himself? Does look like something a very stable genius would write I suppose...😇😃

Tens of thousands of these poor souls went into hospital covid-free. Were then infected with the virus in the wards. Normally most of them would have been sent home after a few days care. Now they have become statistics in the Govt's psychological war on the British people

100k people have NOT died of Covid this is a lie ! 100k people have died from a multitude of causes after having tested positive for the virus using a test which is acknowledged to give a high proportion of false positives. Truth and facts not propaganda and hysteria !

Just Wondering... Is it possible that the EU by seeking to block covid-19 vaccines could be breaking international law??

Worth noting that the age group which tested lowest for covid-19 is also the cohort who suffer the highest (by a long way) number of deaths. Would it be unfair to suggest they were infected in a hospital setting? Certainly looks like it. Is nobody addressing this issue??

Even though more young people have been infected, hospital admissions and deaths involving #COVID19 are highest among those aged over 65 years. Hospital admissions decreased in most age groups in the week ending 17 January ow.ly/qqdM50DfpTd

The SNP wants Scottish independence followed by EU membership. This would be a nightmare. New member states have to join the Euro. And the EU’s strict budget limits would lead to years of harsh austerity. Scotland would be crippled. spiked-online.com/2021/01/20/the…

The SNP’s European nightmare

Rejoining the EU would cripple an independent Scotland.

Don't often agree with anything coming out of the #BBC but this has got it just about right. Droplets and aerosol make indoors settings high risk. Outdoors infection chances just about zero. No argument for wearing masks outside

Thank goodness for sensible opinions from sensible people. Enough with scaring people unnecessarily and encouraging people to extend the use of face coverings to situations with arguably neglible risk. BBC News - Covid-19: Can you catch the virus outside? bbc.co.uk/news/explainer…

Swans can be pretty aggressive as well

There is some good news in these #LockdownLevel3 times. Flu has been cured. This from #PublicHealthEngland and they've even produced a nice graph to prove it.

Rishi Sunak gives £3 billion GBP to 6 million people (plus administration costs) Question: where is this money coming from? Oh yes... We're going to borrow it of course. When is reality going to dawn?? Hint: read up on the Weimar Republic

The vast majority of these poor souls went into hospital covid-free. Infected in the hospital setting they died maybe from the virus, maybe something else. Regardless they have been labelled as Covid deaths with all the associated horrors. There must be a better way.

Interesting. Looks like it's low-risk to walk (or cycle) past other folk outdoors or in. Walking directly behind people anywhere is high-risk and to be avoided. #COVID19

Outdoors the transmission of C-19 either from droplets or aerosol is vanishingly small. Negligible. Contagious only by extremely close and sustained physical contact for a long period. *fact* No argument for wearing masks outside. Indoors is another story.

Why the hell is @SadiqKhan telling people to wear their face masks "on the way to the shop"? The law does not require people to wear masks outdoors and it's unhealthy to do so. Fresh air is good for people's health. This is getting crazier by the hour.

Heard a rant on the radio yesterday. The "elderly buying pots of paint and brushes at a diy store". This plank thought the aged should *never* leave the house. The elderly are obeying the rules, hand sanitizing, social distancing keeping safe. The plank needs to *educate himself*

@Iromg What's the point of stricter rules when people will break them anyway? The death sentence didn't stop people committing murder. All stricter measures will do is punish those who are sticking to them, reluctantly or otherwise.

Please to see that the Old Boy is doing well. If he can cycle 7 miles he's on the mend for sure 😀

The PM was spotted seven miles from Downing St, despite guidance that “you should not travel outside your local area” 👀🚲 bit.ly/39DUfSH
