Practicing something that can be broken down into flashcard format? Check out Anki. It does spaced repetition well: buff.ly/2xhbCXt


Not progressing on a specific goal? Change your approach, or focus on other goals for a while. Growth requires patience + flexibility.


It's better to do less, but to do it consistently and with careful attention, than it is to rush your way through doing many things poorly.


If you're not already using some sort of routine tracking tool, a Google doc or even plain old pen and paper work fine for this.


And although it happens still from time to time, the days of "How do I assemble random things to hit X calories" have passed too. :-)


Software developers: Built a habit around "Paying down tech debt" for 15 minutes, twice a week. It's super effective!


Halfway through your day and have many TODO list items that won't get done? Remove (i.e. cancel) a few tasks, then focus on what remains.


Be honest with yourself, but also be kind. To do either one of these things is difficult, but to do both leads to great things.
