Passing out and falling asleep are good ways to Segway in a Regency novel...
Things I've noticed about Regency heroines: they forget how to breathe sometimes, they pass out a lot, they have very selective amnesia, and they fall asleep at a whim! In the book I'm reading I think she just did all of that.
I'm going to have to rewrite almost all of my manuscript. Time to learn how to use the cork board in my scrivener. I am so confused right now. Maybe I can save it. No.
Sometimes the only thing left to do is put a smile on your face, and start rewriting.
Having a "hope I have the chops to finish up this manuscript" moment. Time for come creative deleating and massive rewriting. This is what happens when you skim over details in the first draft.
That sick feeling you get when you realize you have a lot more editing and rewriting than you thought you had to do...like most of the first half of the book. Sigh. Such is the life of a writer.
I don't see enough writing books about editing out in The Ether. I've made it this far. Maybe I should write one. It seems like all the writing books I see are geared towards beginners. I need a good intermediate writing book.
Hoping to have a saleable novel in the next two days. I've never used an editor before, but it's tax time and I've got the money for it. Should be interesting. Also need to finish writing my query.
Editing and re-writing isn't the worst part of the writing process. It's just different and harder. Like putting makeup on a dump truck.
Currently filling in gaps in my manuscript and simultaneously praying to the book gods that some wonderful angel of a agent will adore my book. Whose door (email) will I darken first?
I'm trying really hard to get a grasp of the classics as well, but I always feel bad about reading when I should be writing. No I do not have very many Classics under my belt, but I have a lot of Regency romance and sci-fi. That makes my books really interesting. I think
It's interesting that most authors careers begin with a love of reading. Mine started with a hate of reading. I was so unsatisfied with what was out there, that I decided to write my own books. Of course I didn't know about romance or sci-fi at that point. I'm catching up
You see one Museum you seen them all. I had a story they get out! I wish I was that bold now. I have to work just survive.
I miss the days of middle school when I would intentionally not bring a permission slip so that I could stay at school and write all day.
I'm used to going over a hundred thousand words in my manuscripts, but when I started this story I thought I was going to write episodes.
My manuscript is 75000 words long beginning to end. I guess that means I get to do a little bit of World building and character development.
Ever almost lose 22 thousand words you've been editing the past two days? Thanks for the heart attack scrivener. Found them back, though.
