A. Nedić season has kicked off. He played a doubles match in Antalya and won 2:1 with his partner S. Popović against A. Horoz and M. Ochi. Valuable experience!
Damirs start to the 2026 season has been underwhelming, now losing his second consecutive match of the year. Despite winning the first set, he went on to lose the game. Hopefully he regains his confidence at the AO!
In about 4 hours, Damirs opening match @atptour 250 Adelaide begins. His opponent is A. Shevchenko 🇰🇿/104th. The Kazakh had to play the qualifiers, but he faired pretty decent. Not an easy match for Damir!
Tonight, Nerman Fatić’ Australian Open begins. In the first round of qualifying, he faces Y. Nishioka 🇯🇵/116th. Will be a tough match! Match begins around midnight (CET).
Apart from our four star players, there are also: Aldin Šetkić (38/1234th) Vladan Tadić (24/1319th) Nemanja Malešević (24/1489th) David Petrović (21/1759th) Dražen Petrović (23/2133th) Ivan Biletić (19/2168th) They are mainly playing doubles.
4. Mirza Bašić - 483th: Won 38 matches and 3 titles. Climbed 79 places. Decent year for our most experienced player. Prediction: Stays within the top 500. Top 400 is a bit too ambitious, but fingers crossed he reaches them!
3. Andrej Nedić - 290th: Not very much to say. He climbed 330 places in one year. Won 60 matches and 5 titles, one of them being in his hometown Doboj. Prediction: Will surely finish in the top 200. Should switch to ATP tours permanently.
2. Nerman Fatić - 224th: Had a sensational year, won 47 matches and lost 14. Made up 160 places. Takes part in the AO qualifiers. Drove me crazy against Ecuador. Prediction: Should finish in the top 200 at least.
To start things off, let’s take a look at our players before the season starts: 1. Damir Džumhur - 66th: Won 21 matches, lost 27. After being nearly absent from 2020-2024, 2025 was a great success. His best match came against current #1 Alcaraz. Prediction: Should stay top 100
Apart from Damirs singles match in Hong Kong, all eyes are on his doubles match together with Tomislav Brkić. Brkić makes his comeback after a long injury. Will be a great duo to gain experience for the upcoming Davis Cup ties.
Finally, the ATP tour returns 🔥! Damit Džumhur plays his first game of the year against N. Borges (47th/🇵🇹) @atptour Hong Kong 250. Match is scheduled for Monday, 6:30am CET.
Andrej Nedić’ got the second place as this years top ten athletes from RS were awarded a trophy for their efforts. Andrej played a fantastic year, he won five tournaments. He’ll finish 2025 as a top 300 player (currently 286th). Congratulations 👏🏼👏🏼
