If you are heading back into the city this week - we have installed many new protected bike lanes to make your journey safer. 🚴🚴‍♀️👇

We’re installing more than 500 meters of new protected bike lanes each week. Here is a video of Queensbridge street which shows how these protected lanes make a real difference for cyclists. This is part of our plan to fast-track 40km of new bike lanes over two years.

This will make a huge difference!

Fantastic to see this happening on Exhibition St.

Exhibition Street is a missing link in our bike network, with no continuous lane to keep riders safe. 🚴🚴‍♀️🚴‍♂️That’s why we are starting construction on 900m of protected bike lanes between Flinders and Bourke Street this month. melbourne.vic.gov.au/news-and-media…

Think protected bike infrastructure doesn’t make a huge difference? I’m an experienced & confident bike rider, & there’s no way I would bike Toronto’s Danforth Ave in this”before” scenario. I would take my little boy into the “after” scenario. Via @mkapral

If walking costs you $1, we all pay $0.01. If biking costs you $1, we all pay $0.08. If bussing costs you $1, we all pay $1.50. If driving costs you $1, we all pay $9.20. Via @thediscourse study. This isn’t just about choice. It’s about who pays for the choice. #citymakingmath

@BikeSpotProject significant according to @RACV_Official @StuartOuthred says the findings support their call for dedicated bike lanes & other cycling road infrastructure to improve safety & encourage more people to ride bikes racv.com.au/royalauto/movi…

Great to have @RACV_Official on the side of needing dedicated cycling infrastructure. #safecycling #bikelanes
