Career .181/.227/.340 hitter in 112 MLB games with the Marlins. Good glove, but can’t imagine the Nats would view him as much more than a late-game defensive replacement for Joey Meneses (if he ends up the everyday 1B).
1B Lewin Diaz has signed a minor league deal with the Washington Nationals, per source. Deal comes with a spring training invite. Diaz, 27, spent last season in AAA with the Orioles and played parts of 2020-2022 in the big leagues with Miami.
Congrats to @whatwouldDOOdo on a productive and unique career. Healthy, he was such a great reliever. But he’s special in D.C. — and Oakland — because he invested in the towns in which he played. Best to him and @EireannDolan in whatever’s next!
At the moment, five of the 12 teams holding playoff spots had opening day payrolls ranked 17th or lower. The Nats are on a 19-13 run. They have to spend, but spending isn’t everything. Ask the Mets, Yankees and Padres. washingtonpost.com/sports/2023/08…
Wrapping up our week of the most significant stories of 2022 with the most important story of all, one that now threatens to stretch well into 2023: When are the Nationals going to be sold? masnsports.com/blog/most-sign…
Classy: Jeimer Candelario was non-tendered by the Tigers and still put up a tweet to thank them. That is akin to being fired, and yet classy enough to compose that message. Welcome to DC @jeimer24C #NATITUDE
I just want to thank the Tigers organization, teammates and fans! I will always fondly remember my 5 years there and how great I was treated. I took pride in putting on that uniform and always tried my best. My family and I want to thank everyone! #TheCandyMan 🍬🍭

So the venture capitalist who said he loves venture capitalists, Silicon Valley, and San Francisco is not playing well in Middle America? Huh.
And he had, to a middle schooler, a hilarious name. Poo-Holes. I couldnt have even made that up. My dad and I couldnt believe what we were witnessing. We were watching what looked like the greatest hitter since Ted Williams completely dominate major leaguers and no one noticed
In those games we didn't see Big Mac jacking bombs, we saw something else. There was a 21-year-old unknown that wouldn't stop hitting. He wore number 68. Every day we'd see him, he'd hit a homer, make a play in the field, hit a bomb. Sometimes he'd play 3B, sometimes 1B.
I remember it well
New Years with a baby consists of counting down to his bed time and then putting pajama pants on, streaming 2-3 hours of a critically acclaimed drama and falling asleep by nine.
My twitter was hacked. I think it is fixed, but please tell me if you see any more suggestive tweets featuring "my" large breasts

Finally got to a game at Wrigley Field. The view is as expected - but the brats are awesome.

I remain convinced this is the Bryce Harper we would have seen since 2013 if he never hit the fence. When he's healthy, he conquers worlds.
