Sneek peak into my new #3dsculpt tool YES! it's running in the browser thanks to #emscripten and a tiny bit of #fsharp for UI baking tools all in less than 600kb (JS + wasm + resources) #wasm #webassembly #3Dprinting #3dart

To developers starting today; learn a few things deeply: git, Linux, object orientation and functional programming. From there, everything else is just syntax and won't scare you.

The problem with SOLID principles is precisely that they are NOT principles. There are no axioms by which it can be proven that code satisfies "single responsibility", therefore it is not a principle. It's a vague heuristic at best... but such is grandpa OOP.

Are the SOLID principles applicable to Functional Programming? Of course. Functional programmers want to separate their code to avoid crosstalk between responsibilities and users. They want to minimize the number of modules affected by a change.

Exactly, a deployment to production should be routine, rolling back on an error, routine. Do it at 18:00 on a Friday to test your fault tolerance. You can hire me if you fuck it all up. :)

Erm. I'm "I used to go into Dixon's and type the same memorized program into all the 48k+ Sinclair spectrums and make a wall full of low-res pyramids and yes I used to think I was the shizzle" years old.

You get to a stage in your career when you're responsible for writing job descriptions and hiring people. Take all the advice you can get; this is good advice:

This is the *exact* reason why you should never specify “must have 5 years experience” in a job description. We should never care how many years you’ve worked on something. We should only care whether you can do the job. "Years of experience" is an awful proxy for that.

Sweet lord, no. NO.

Do you remember your mom's first smile? Now you can.

Maybe write code that looks like a professional wrote it, instead of someone who ate a tin of alphabetti spaghetti and shat directly into visual studio. Thx.
