For those of you who think your children must go to college. My husband just retired at 55. I was able to stay home with our son. We had a yearly trip to Hawaii and we own two homes. My husband was an electrician.
Oh boy @DoveCanada - this is the best response to another Canadian company’s self-inflicted PR disaster I have ever seen 😄 👊🏻
Age is beautiful. Women should be able to do it on their own terms, without any consequences 👩🏼🦳👩🏾🦳Dove is donating $100,000 to Catalyst, a Canadian organization helping build inclusive workplaces for all women. Go grey with us, turn your profile picture greyscale and #KeepTheGrey
It's shameful how we remove some kids from homes & put them into the foster care system b/c their parents can't afford to provide for them, but then pay strangers to provide for those kids instead of supporting the parents. Punishing those struggling with poverty makes no sense.
Recent national anchor departures: 2011 - Lloyd Robertson retires as CTV anchor at age 77 2017- Peter Mansbridge retires as CBC anchor at age 69 2022- Lisa LaFlamme contract cancelled by CTV at age 58.
Canada just found out that they can take t cells from a patient with MS, clean the cells of the MS and replace them and stop the disease or even cure it in 70% of the patients treated. T cells and Lymphocyte replacement is the future of medicine, and you can take that to the bank
So let me get this straight: wearing a mask to save lives during a pandemic should be a personal choice, but what a pregnant person does with their own body should be mandated by the government?
Food banks are NOT the solution to food insecurity. Real solutions lie in policies that establish income equity, affordable housing & healthy communities. Ensuring the right to food isn't about giving people more food, it's about supporting their ability to access it themselves.
Hey! Look! Did you see that massively huge convoy of health workers who has gone in to work each & every day to provide healthcare for vulnerable people amidst staffing shortages, snowstorms & a raging pandemic? Yeah...shoutout to that convoy. That convoy is the best. 🙌🏾
Do we all agree that paying people livable wages is good for the #mentalhealth ? Let's start from there.
Wanna radically improve #mentalhealth? Give people housing. End poverty. Promote food security. Be anti-racist. Fund harm reduction. Offer workers paid sick days. Provide equitable healthcare (especially mental healthcare) to all...Equity IS mental health. 🙏🏽
RT if you agree that a single day sponsored by a corporation is not a substitute for the free & equitable #mentalhealth care services that our governments should actually be providing for us all year.
Can we please settle this debate already? There is no labor shortage. There is a living wage shortage, a hazard pay shortage, a child care shortage, a paid sick leave shortage, and a health care shortage.
Still waiting for that sofa you ordered back in June? The dishwasher you paid for in May? Wonder what the heck is going on? The global supply chain's broken. Ships are unable to offload because there aren't any trucks or truckdrivers to haul goods from already-full warehouses. 👇🏾
There's been plenty of discussion in the news recently about the dozens of merchant ships stuck waiting off of Long Beach/LA waiting to unload due to delays caused by various factors such as COVID, port capacity, container ship demand and size, etc. businessinsider.com/shipping-delay…
Stop acting like pandemic mandates are a tyrannical attack on your "freedoms" & "rights". You aren't free to drive drunk or smoke in restaurants. It's not "your right" to take a dump on Main Street. When you live AMONG OTHERS there are rules to protect the group. This is not new.
I became an ICU nurse at the end of July in 2020, during one of the first peaks of covid when it was all still so new. I learned how to be a nurse behind a respirator and a yellow gown, amidst the constant beeping and hissing of ventilators that couldn't support failing lungs.
Delta may not be the worst variant this virus deals us. We can reduce the risk of more dangerous mutations by increasing vaccination and preventing explosive spread of the virus.

When covidiots say “it has a 99% survival rate” then I think they’re revealing their ignorance of how percentages work. WW2 had a 99.7% survival rate for Canada, and we still hold a national day of remembrance 75 years later to honour the sacrifice of life.
