Hello! I just refreshed my pinned tweets. I usually share all things Tolkien, folklore, folktale, and sometimes just RT cute arts or cats. Below are examples of the types of things I like to tweet! This one is about Tolkien's essay on fairy stories.

On 8 March 1939, J. R. R. Tolkien delivered a lecture at the University of St. Andrews, which was published as essay "On Fairy Stories", in which he argued that fairy tales are not just for children, describing what it means to enter this realm. 🧵1/8 🎨: J.R.R. #Tolkien

My first horror novel by trans author, "Tell Me I'm Worthless" is a haunted house tale where the insidious supernatural horror intertwined with the bleak, real-world one; rage bleeding from every page. A mirror on Rumfitt's experience facing organized, politicized transphobia.

My last two birthday books arrived after almost two months! I've read good words about Alison Rumfitt's haunted house horror that reflects organized transphobia. And a book that references "Stone Butch Blues" also talks about being a queer person that doesn't fit into fixed box.

Finished the first of my birthday books! In "A Thing of Fun", a short story collection by queer Singaporean author O Thiam Chin, the gist of each tale unfolded inside mind: grief, regret, and emotional landscapes words couldn't express. Purchased from @transitreads in Jakarta.

When Jeffrey Goldberg was Greta Thunberg’s age, he was volunteering at the same Zionist prison camp, Ketziot, where she is now being held. His decrepit magazine won’t cover this, so here’s the last piece @TheAtlantic published about Greta’s activism—in June 2023. Aged well.

The desert prison where Israel is holding the flotilla activists is called Ketziot. Known for torture and abuse, it’s also where Jeffrey Goldberg - current editor of The Atlantic magazine - volunteered as a prison guard in the 80s when he left the US to serve in the Israeli army.

Greetings from the Global Sumud Flotilla as we make our final approach to Gaza ⛵️ Today, I am writing a very personal letter to you all — a letter about what it means to me to be Jewish on a mission that is set to arrive to the “Red Zone” during Yom Kippur, the holiest day of…

Greta is one of the most impactful activists of the 21st century, precisely because she connected climate change and capitalism, and then the Gaza genocide and capitalism, in unambiguous ways, to a global audience.

Greta Thunberg is a hero. She could have made a very comfortable life making Macronic & Obamic platitudes sharing a stage with the likes of von der Leyen, but she went the opposite difficult path speaking truth to power and showing up the liberal establishment for what it is

Throwback to one of my favorite landmarks to see when visiting Kuala Lumpur in 2023: the Sri Mahamariamman Temple, with a tiered, ornate gopuram (tower) in South Indian style. Dating back to 1873, it became an important place for the early Indian immigrants in Kuala Lumpur.

Signs of love in my birthday month from those I love in my life: Books by queer Singaporean and Malaysian authors, novel, memoir and anthologies by Palestinian writers, journalist, poets, and artists, and a book on Palestinian folktales complete with their ethnographical notes.

For #TolkienTrewsday theme of Hobbit Day, I wrote a reflection. What do "Hobbitness" and home mean? Reading "The Hobbit" for the first time and recently made me realize that answering these means confronting history and memories. #TolkienTuesday #Tolkien putri2wotan.wordpress.com/2025/09/24/wha…

Always grateful for Leslie Feinberg's decision to make "Stone Butch Blues" available to read for free, as looking for one in Indonesia was like trying to touch my own toes (I'm not flexible). A hard read but necessary. It sucks being put in narrow box when you contain multitudes.

I just joined early Hobbit Day meeting at Grey Haven Smial's Discord where we shared something from Tolkien and outside Tolkien to describe what Hobbitness means. I read from my Indonesian The Hobbit and managed to connect these books when sharing about what "home" really means.
