Non-fiction gets a rap from those who love to read only stories, but let's cast away those preconceived notions? Here are a few kinds of seemingly-serious but amazingly-interesting type of non-fiction you can check: theblogchatter.com/BeStorified/pu…

A6. Community support is so important. I remember publishing Xanadu during the ebook Carnival. The people who read it, generously agreed to review the book when it released on Amazon increasing its visibility. Even as little as a shout out from Community can help #IndieChatter

#IndieChatter We cannot expect them to do the marketing but they can some tips regarding the whole publishing process and suggest some good teams who will help.

@blogchatter already does awesome work for bloggers and authors! The biggest issue is getting proper book marketing and reviews for the books. #Indiechatter is a support that helps indie authors, which you can help with.

Q6. How can communities like Blogchatter make the indie author journey easier for you? #IndieChatter

People think of indie authors as those who couldn't make it! I know authors who were Indie published before they got traditional book deals, or those like #SundariVenkatraman who love being indie published. #Indiechatter

Q5. What is something you wish people would stop saying about indie authors? #IndieChatter

#IndieChatter. I'm not really aware of the brickbats that Indie authors receive but the indifference to your efforts hurts and I wish friends and family would go one step further and buy the book rather than expect free copies.

A5. A long list. But I think the most important is when people diss you and think your writing is not good enough for being trad-pubbed. Or when they dismiss your book without even reading a sample just because it wasn't trad-pubbed. #IndieChatter

I check author, their writing and then maybe the blurb because I have read too many misleading blurbs! #Indiechatter

Q4.  As a reader, do you check if a book is traditionally published or indie, or do you just pick what interests you? #IndieChatter

As a reader, the most important factors are the cover and blurb for me. The publishing comes later. #indiechatter But traditional books are definitely promoted better.

A4. Ah well, I do try to balance out my reading list. Have both indie as well as traditionally published books on my kindle. But for certain genres like sci-fi and non-fiction I do tend to stick to trad pubbed #IndieChatter

#IndieChatter I just pick what interests me.The thought about the publishing path doesn't come to mind but now I'll try to check.
